You will observe three recognisable Argentine icons: the blue and white sports shirt, (in this case, rugby), a tray of empanadas (in this case ham and cheese filling in pastry, baked) and asado.
I´d love to know who has been reading my blog as the counter is clicking over. I´ve only got one more day left in Argentina and then, missing a day, arrive back in NZ on Tuesday morning... Hopefully, I can add a few more pictures and anecdotes - it just depends on accessibility to an internet-friendly computer.
Feel free to leave a message or comment - check out the small print at the bottom of the post to work out how to do it , or email me at kayosnz@yahoo.com .
Also, to all those of you in Argentina who I said I would love to talk to you on Skype -my username is kayvincent otherwise, just search my name and the country ¨New Zealand¨.
¡Hola! Kay
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog since you emailed me. Quietly reliving my days in Paraná alongside you - laughing with you, and sighing as I recall the great memories that I collected during my 5 weeks with the AFS NZ One month Language Immersion Programme. A piece of your heart will forever be left in Paraná now. Aren't those ladies at STEP and CAI just amazing as well as those wonderful students!!
I see on Yolanda's facebook that you enjoyed a night "en casa de Carmen con las maestras" (hope my tense and plurals are right!!) Carmen was my amazing "host mother" and I miss her dreadfully. It is my hope to return to Paraná sometime next year and to visit Iguazu Falls (I'm so envious of your trip there).
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog during your time in Paraná - you have a very natural voice and I do hope that you continue to blog as you begin to embed your immersion journey experience and observations back into the classroom in NZ.
¡Todo el muy la mejor!
¡Abrazos!
Chrissy
I check it pretty regularly :) you are definitely getting hits at a cracking pace! If meeting intercultural objectives involves pastry then count me in...
